Construction on the more than 130-mile segment in California’s Central Valley will begin in the second half of 2012. This construction segment commits the $6 billion in funding available for construction that the Authority has secured as of Winter 2011.
As additional funding becomes available, the line will be extended north toward the San Francisco Bay Area and/or south toward the Los Angeles-Anaheim area.
The first phase of the project spans those two endpoints and spans some 520 miles. The second phase extends that to stretch from Sacramento to San Diego and runs about 800 miles.
More information about the Authority Board decisions related to this construction segment, relevant details and maps are below. We will continue to update this page with new information.
We look forward to hearing from you and invite you to ask questions or sign up for our mailing list to receive the most up-to-date information on the project by clicking here.
